I didn’t just sit in cafes in Luang Prabang. There are a couple of nice daytrips from there, to a waterfall and a cave full of Buddha images.

I’ve been seeing some of the sights around Luang Prabang, and spending some time hanging out in cafes people watching.
I also climbed Mount Phousi, which is a landmark in the center of town. After climbing these 138 stairs,

Luang Prabang is quite different from what I expected. Laos (the final “s” is silent, I have learned) was controlled by the French, and there is a lot of evidence of that in Luang Prabang. Much of the architecture in the main part of town looks French, and baguettes are popular street food.
